Baby Jumper
Pattern:
Double knitting, any colour except white
5mm knitting needles or the old size 6
Cast on 40 stitches and knit 16 rows in knit 2 purl 2 rib
Knit 30 rows in stocking stitch (one row plain, one row purl)
Cast on 12 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows (knitting in K2 p2 rib)
Knit 22 rows in k2 p2 rib
Cast off 26 stitches for neck opening in the middle of next row ( ie knit 19 stitches, cast off 26)
Cast on 26 stitches at neck opening in middle of row
Knit 22 rows in knit 2 purl 2 rib
Cast off 12 stitches in rib at beginning of next two rows
Knit 30 rows in stocking stitch
Knit 16 rows in k2 p2
Cast off in rib
Sew up seams

You will need:
Double knit yarn (less than 10 grams)
2mm straight needles and 2.5mm dpns (double pointed needles)
Crochet hook
Darning needle
Front:
Using 2mm straight needles cast
on 20sts
1x1 rib for 8 rows
K10, M1, K10. Count 21sts
P1 row
k1, cf4, k1, cf4, k1, cf4, k1, cf4,
k1
p 1 row
k 1 row
p 1 row
Rep last 4 rows a further 4 times for Ipod Nano (a total
of 5 cables) or a further 5 times for a Classic Ipod (a total
of 6 cables)
Armholes:
Cast off 2sts, k to end. Count
19sts
Cast off 2 sts, p to end. Count 17sts
Neck shaping:
K 7, K2tog, turn working on this side only, cont in st st –
dec 1st at neck edge every row until 2 sts remain, cast off.
Rejoin yarn with Right Side facing.
Working on this side only, cont
in st st – dec 1st at neck edge every row until 2 sts rem,
cast off.
Back:
Cast on 20 sts.
1x1 rib for 8 rows.
Starting with a Knit row, work
in st st until back measures the same as front until the start
of armhole shaping ending on a ws.
Cast off 2, k to end. Count
18sts.
Cast off 2, p to end. Count 16sts.
St st until back measures same as
front, cast off.
Making up:
Join shoulder seams.
Pick up and knit an even number
all down armhole, 1x1 rib for 6 rows, cast off in pattern.
Repeat on other armhole side.
Neck band:
Use 2.5mm dpns
Pick up and knit around the neck
opening.
1x1 rib for 1 round.
1x1 rib for 5 more rounds (working
K3tog at the front centre of every round).
(Add an optional colour stripe on
rounds 3 and 4 to support the team of your choice)
Turn and cast off on the ws in pattern.
Sew up the sides and underarms of
the jumper using mattress stitch.
Sew up the bottom opening of the
jumper (ipod squeezes in through the neck opening).
Give to Ipod who will wear it with
pride!

Materials
needed
3
x (50g) balls of aran weight yarn in 3 different colours,
(A,
B, C),
1
pair of 5mm knitting needles
To make place mat
With
yarn A cast on 46sts. Start in Stripe
pattern as follows:
With yarn A, knit 1 row. With yarn
B, knit 1 row. With yarn C, knit
1 row. These 3 rows set the stripe
pattern.
Continue in stripe pattern until place mat measures 25cm or desired
length.
To make coaster
With
yarn A cast on 18sts. Continue in stripe pattern as for place
mat until coaster measures 10cm.

No 8 (4mm) needles cast on 121 (181.221) Sts.
And mark centre stitch with coloured thread.
Knit
4 rows
Now
count in pattern as follows:
1st row: Using No 8 needle knit, wrapping yarn twice round needle.
2nd row: Knit dropping loop from previous row
3rd row: Knit until 5 sts before centre stitch,K2og, tbl K3og.tbl
knit centre stitch k3tog.k2 tog, knit to end
4th row: Knit
Repeat these 4 rows until 55(55.59) sts remain ending with 4th
row.
NECKBAND
Change
to No.10 (3¼ mm) needles and continue as follows:

Now
decreasing 1st stitch each side of centre stitch on every
row work 4 more rows in ribs. Cast off loosely
in rib.
FRINGE
Cut
6 (8, 10) ins length of yarn by winding yarn round strong cardboard
3(4,5)ins wide & cutting through yarns at one edge of
cardboard.
Using 4(4,6) of these lengths at a time fold in half, pull folded
ends through bottom of poncho with crochet hook, thread the cut
endsthrough the doubled loops and pull to form a knitted fringe.
