Click on the 'contact us' link in the menu above to write to us Click here for advice in starting a new group Click here to go to main Groups page In Stitches University of Manchester knitting group is generally used by staff as students have their own Knit Society, but we’re open to all. We meet three times a month and there’s no fee to join or be a member.
It’s been mainly a knit and natter (though we have members who crochet, cross stitch etc instead of knitting). I’m looking for ways for us to move forward with workshops etc. We’re happy to teach people how to knit or crochet and will provide the means to do so as well. When: three times a month; 1st Wednesday, 2nd Friday and 4th Tuesday
KnitSoc The University of Manchester KnitSoc aims to create a place where people can get together to ‘stich and bitch’, which mainly involves sitting in a pub, knitting and talking. We are experienced knitters who are on hand to teach beginners, and to help others who want to be a bit more adventurous with their knitting. We are open to everyone, not just students and welcome anyone with other expertise who wants to share them with us. KnitSoc is a friendly environment to meet new people and learn new skills! We are currently thinking up new projects for our society involving guerrilla knitting, yarn-bombing and work to do with charities. We also organise trips to crafty places around Manchester. When: meetings are fortnightly next one: 20th November Click here for more information
Knottingham Trent Knit Society Our members are all Trent students from all of our campuses and we charge £6 joining fee. This goes towards the buying of yarn, patterns and needles for people to use. For the membership fee you also get a pair of size 4 mm needles and a ball of yarn for you to keep. We do emphasis you do not need to know how to knit to join the society or do a art/knitting/textiles degree. We have all abilities and we can teach right and left handed crochet and knitting. It is a great way of visiting lots of different cafes, bars and, tea rooms will a bunch of friendly people whilst learning a new skill and make something.
